TBAS SETUP INFORMATION

There are three(3) separate shipments.

The Black Chair being used with the BAT system will be used with the new TBAS system

TEST of BASIC AVIATION SKILLS(TBAS) replaces Basic Attributes Test (BAT)

The old BAT system will be replaced this summer per the following schedule:

16 July 06 Last day for BAT testing
17 July 06 - 13 Aug 06 TBAS set-up at sites (4 duty weeks)
14 Aug 06 TBAS operational at all sites

All dates are subject to change per Air Force implementation plan.

and test schedule status will be provided in future updates

UPDATE 27 Feb 2006

The TBAS equipment will be sent to each site.  The equipment being sent is CPU, LCD, keyboard, mouse, headphones, flash memory stick, flight stick, rudder pedals, surge protector, and a new carrel.  The computer will have the new software preloaded.  Installation will be performed by site personnel – instructions will be provided.  Installation should take about 30 minutes. The old BAT equipment is to be turned in to the servicing DRMO facility.  The carrel can be discarded in the trash.  No equipment will be shipped to the PCSM program office.  PCSM program office personnel will be available via the telephone for any assistance. 

UPDATE 24 Feb 2006

PCSM scores generated using the TBAS test will be used for Pilot Selection Boards scheduled after 1 Oct 06. If an applicant is meeting a board before 1 Oct 06 they will need to take the current BAT test to receive a PCSM score. If an applicant is meeting a board after 1 Oct 06 they should wait to take the TBAS test to receive a PCSM score. After 1 Oct 06 PCSM scores computed using the BAT test will no longer be valid and candidates must take the TBAS test to have a PCSM score.
